Angels' Shohei Ohtani shut down 4-6 weeks as pitcher

Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani has been temporarily shut down as a pitcher after being diagnosed with a grade 1-2 strain of the flexor pronator mass, the team announced Monday.

A timetable for the right-hander to begin throwing again is 4-6 weeks.

Ohtani is traveling with the team to Seattle and his status as a DH is day to day.
