The Hunter Strickland experience didn’t go as the Angels would have liked. On Monday, the Angels announced they designated the reliever for assignment. In the move, they recalled reliever James Hoyt.
At the time of his acquisition, Strickland had been great with the Rays. With the Angels was a completely different story. The 32-year-old appeared in nine games for the Halos. He posted an ERA of just under 10. Yup, it was that bad.
His FIP was 9.93, his WHIP was 2.37 and he had as many strikeouts as walks. To put it kindly, he wasn’t very good.
