Angels place Jered Weaver on the DL with hip injury

Jered Weaver, who is having a disappointing season for the Angels, was placed on the disabled list because of left hip inflammation on Sunday.

OAKLAND – Jered Weaver’s disappointing season is taking a detour to the disabled list.

Weaver, who has 4.75 ERA, was placed on the disabled list on Sunday because of left hip inflammation, a condition Weaver said has bothered him for years but gotten worse lately.

It’s unclear how much time Weaver will miss. He will undergo further tests on Monday in Southern California.
