TEMPE, Ariz. — Torii Hunter Jr. struck out twice and lost a ball in a sun.
And he still had a great day.
The 21-year-old Angels minor leaguer was summoned for his first taste of the majors, a big league exhibition game, with his father in town to watch.
“It was awesome,” Hunter Jr. said after the Sunday's game, which the Angels lost to the White Sox. “Just a great opportunity coming up from minor league camp and being able to work with these guys for one day was awesome.”
The Angels drafted Hunter in the 23rd round in 2016, even though he barely played baseball at Notre Dame.
