Angels Notes: Garrett Richards heads to the DL with a biceps strain

Garrett Richards, who left Wednesday's game with a biceps issue, had an MRI exam on Friday that showed a strain. He was placed on the disabled list, but he's hoping to be back in just over a week.

ANAHEIM — Rarely do you see a player so relieved to go on the disabled list.

For Garrett Richards, though, the news that he had just a biceps strain was greeted with a sigh of relief. Thanks to the new 10-day disabled list, Richards could be back as soon as next weekend, which is his plan.
