Angels Freese Pop Makes Winner of Garrett Richards

The Angels had stranded so many early runners on base in Friday night's game that it seemed freakish for a clutch hit to occur at all. That inconsistent clutchiness arrived with the Halos down 2-1 on a 3-2 count with two outs and Mike Trout on 2B in the form of David Freese clutching one out of the park.

Garrett Richards was the winning pitcher without much help from a terrible home plate umpiring job by Jim Reynolds. Rangers starter Wandy Rodriguez looked like Sandy Koufax while numerous pitches by Richards clearly over the plate were demoted to ball-hood by the blind man's bluff with the home plate keychain.
