Virgil van Dijk will start Friday night's Merseyside derby, Sportsmail has learned.
The world’s most expensive defender has been told by manager Jurgen Klopp that he will make his Liverpool debut when they entertain Everton at Anfield in the FA Cup.
Van Dijk joined Liverpool on January 1 from Southampton for £75m.
The Holland international has trained with his new teammates and, barring any late injuries or a last-minute change of heart, he will make his bow in Liverpool colours in the heart of their defence in the Third Round clash against their neighbours.
