Thursday night's meeting of Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium won't have quite the same titanic, title-deciding quality we expected when the fixtures were released.

Instead, Pep Guardiola's deposed champions will be giving Liverpool a guard of honour after one of the most dominant title wins ever.

The outcome of the championship may already be decided but that won't stop both teams being determined to lay down an early marker for next season.
