Villareal 1-4 Barcelona: Fearsome front-three back on form as Luis Suarez bags SCREAMER, Antoine Griezmann chip hands £108m man first goal in 10 games and Lionel Messi adds two assists to keep La Liga title race with Real Madrid alive

Finally it happened – 51 weeks after he signed for Barcelona, Antoine Griezmann linked up brilliantly with Lionel Messi for a very special goal. It was the third in a 4-1 win over Villarreal on a night when Barcelona showed they are not going to give up the Spanish title without a fight.

The move that showed all Barcelona supporters what might have been had 120m euros signing Griezmann, and Barça captain Messi not been practicing a sort of pre-pandemic social distancing off and, more importantly on, the pitch since the start of the season.

Both were played centrally in a tactical shift from coach Quique Setien and they clicked immediately.
