University of Liverpool launches new 'Divock Origi Scholarship' after kind-hearted Reds striker offered to cover the tuition fees and living costs of two students for the next academic year

Reds forward Divock Origi is launching a new scholarship in partnership with the University of Liverpool.

The Divock Origi Scholarship will be offered on a competitive basis to two students from the city of Liverpool.

Successful candidates will begin an undergraduate course at the university in September 2021.

The scholarship will cover tuition fees (£9,250 per year) and provided an annual payment of £3,000 towards living costs.

Speaking about the programme, Origi said: 'From a purpose perspective and understanding the position of influence and impact I'm blessed to have, I know the importance of being given an opportunity, while also truly believing in the ability of future generations to achieve greatness.
