Transfer report: Barcelona considering shock summer move for Liverpool flop Luis Alberto

Barcelona are preparing a shock summer move for Liverpool flop Luis Alberto, according to reports in Italy.

Liverpool signed the midfielder from Sevilla in 2013 but he failed to start a single Premier League game in three years at Anfield.

However, he has blossomed since leaving Merseyside for Lazio in August 2016, and has particularly impressed this season with 10 goals and 18 assists for the Italian side.

The 25-year-old's consistent form has not gone unnoticed to visiting scouts and now Alberto is reportedly a key target for Barcelona.

The Nou Camp giants are still on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta, who is expected to leave the club this summer.
