After trailing by one at the interval, the Reds emerged from a frantic second half at Anfield with three points courtesy of strikes by Mohamed Salah (two), Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

The goalfest was nothing new for a team who have experienced more than their fair share of dramatic matches under this manager – mostly with success.

By coincidence, the highest-scoring fixture of Klopp’s reign so far occurred on this day in 2016, when Adam Lallana’s stoppage-time strike settled a frankly ridiculous contest with Norwich City 5-4 in Liverpool’s favour.
