Steven Gerrard says he is still digesting Philippe Coutinho's departure to Barcelona but admits he isn't surprised by the midfielder's decision to leave Liverpool.
Coutinho completed his £145million transfer to Barcelona last week and was paraded in front of his new supporters at the Nou Camp on Monday.
The Brazilian handed in a transfer request in the summer in the face of Barcelona's interest but Liverpool managed to hold on to the midfielder for another six months.
But Gerrard, speaking on BT Sport's coverage of Brighton's win over Crystal Palace, said it was difficult to stop Coutinho leaving when his heart was set on Barcelona.
