Seeing red! Australian fans of Liverpool FC flock to ANZ Stadium for a rare chance to see their heroes play live as they take on Sydney FC

Almost 73,000 fans streamed into ANZ Stadium dressed to the nines on Wednesday to watch localSydney FC take on Liverpool in a friendly match.

Punters paid up to $213 to see the action inside the stadium, and came more than prepared with signs and team merchandise.

Liverpool fans brought flags, dressed in team colours and appeared beside themselves to have the British team on Australian soil.

Meanwhile, one young boy captured the eye of passers by as he flaunted his soccer skills in a Liverpool jersey outside the stadium.
