Rio Ferdinand backs Jason Tindall after Newcastle assistant hushed Jurgen Klopp during their defeat to Liverpool and says he is 'here for' his passionate displays - insisting it 'takes the spotlight' off boss Eddie Howe

Rio Ferdinand has backed the touchline antics of Newcastle assistant manager Jason Tindall, stating he's 'here for it'.

The Magpies number two was seen appearing to shush Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp during Sunday's clash at St James Park, in response to the Reds' gaffers constant ranting at the fourth official.

Unfortunately, Klopp and Liverpool had the last laugh on Tindall as the visitors fought back from 1-0 down to win the game, despite having Virgil van Dijk sent off just before the half hour mark.

Tindall's passionate touchline displays have received mixed reactions among football fans, but former England defender Ferdinand has no issue with the way Eddie Howe's righthand man behaves.
