Trent Alexander-Arnold's Real Madrid contract reportedly contains an astronomical release clause as the club look to protect their prize asset.
After months of speculation surrounding his future, Alexander-Arnold confirmed earlier this month that he would join Real at the end of the season.
The move proved seriously divisive among Liverpool fans, particularly as it appeared the academy graduate would be leaving his boyhood club without a fee after he rejected a new contract.
However, Real have ultimately elected to pay a £10million fee to complete the transfer early in order to have the England international in time for the beginning of their Club World Cup campaign next month.
