Report: Liverpool Ladies suffer City defeat in Spring Series finale

Scott Rogers’ charges gave a good account of themselves but City, who also won the Women’s FA Cup and Continental Cup, were more clinical in the final third of the field.

Rogers was without the influence of Alex Greenwood and Casey Stoney in defence, so in a reshuffled backline Niamh Charles started at left-back.

It was also a proud day for Liverpool Ladies as they wore the brand new 2017-18 strip for the first time.

Rogers’ charges started brightly and went close on five minutes when a rasping drive from Caroline Weir was kept out by Marie Hourihan.
