Police watchdog launches investigation after patrol car knocks 13-year-old boy off electric bike as he rode towards it

The police watchdog has launched an investigation after a patrol car knocked a 13-year-old boy off his bike as rode towards the vehicle.

The teenager was rushed to hospital with a serious leg injury after the crash at around 3.50pm on Wednesday on Southdean Road in Dovecot, Liverpool.

Merseyside Police reported three bikes were being ridden towards a police vehicle, and confirmed one of the electric bikes, a Suron motorbike, was hit by a police car.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing and police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
