My first England Under 21s shirt meant the world to me but it has to be Everton and the Le Coq Sportif shirt of 1984, the blue with short white triangle by the collar. When I was an apprentice at Stoke looking after Howard Kendall’s boots he told me how special a place Everton was.
Then I got to play for them under Howard in the League Cup and FA Cup finals. That shirt brings back great memories, especially all of Merseyside coming together for the Milk Cup against Liverpool.
