Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored his 250th goal for Liverpool on Saturday night following an Emiliano Martinez howler at Anfield.
The Reds, who had lost six of their last seven games, were lacking in confidence going into the match, but took the lead in the first half when Martinez tired to play out from the back.
Villa had endured issues playing out throughout the game, and World Cup-winning goalkeeper Martinez ended up passing straight to Salah, who poked in with his right foot to reach the landmark.
The Egyptian, who joined Liverpool in 2017 for £39millon, becomes just the third man to reach the landmark for the Reds, after Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.
