Man United legend tips Steven Gerrard for Wrexham job after their disappointing start in the Championship - eight months on from Liverpool icon's exit from Saudi giants Al-Ettifaq

Steven Gerrard has been tipped to become the next Wrexham manager after their disappointing start to life in the Championship.

Gerrard left Saudi club Al-Ettifaq in January 2025 after 18 months in charge and has been out of work ever since. He had been set to stay until 2027 after signing a contract extension in 2024 but departed midway through the season.

Al-Ettifaq underperformed during his tenure, winning just five of 17 games and sitting 12th in a 16-team league, narrowly above the relegation zone.

Prior to that, Gerrard enjoyed success at Rangers, leading them to an unbeaten league campaign and their first Scottish title in a decade in 2020-21 before moving to the Premier League with Aston Villa.
