Jurgen Klopp earlier this week revealed that summer signing Loris Karius is Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper for now, with Simon Mignolet being demoted to the No. 2 spot.
It was a decision Klopp would have liked to make earlier, had it not been for Karius breaking his hand on the club's preseason tour to the United States.
His absence meant Mignolet held on to the starting spot for the beginning of the 2016-17 campaign, but when the German returned to full fitness, Klopp had a call to make.
The Reds boss gave Karius his Liverpool debut in the League Cup back in September before handing him two further opportunities in the league to prove his worth, while insisting that the position was still open for competition.
