St Finbar’s Catholic Primary School’s poem, Being Different, was chosen from over 1200 entries by a judging panel, which included Children’s Laureate Lauren Child, singer-songwriter Olly Murs, former Premier League footballer Rio Ferdinand and poet Joseph Coelho.
To mark their impressive achievement, LFC Foundation invited the youngsters to last weekend’s legends game against AC Milan and for a private tour of Anfield, where they were presented with special framed copies of their work.
As national winners, the children will also have their poem read aloud by one of the star judges, take part in a poetry workshop led by Joseph Coelho and have the Premier League trophy brought to their school.
