Liverpool set to trigger £29.5m Jeremie Frimpong release clause - as Reds push to complete deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold's successor

Liverpool are pressing forward with the £29.5m signing of Jeremie Frimpong and are expected to trigger his release clause with Bayer Leverkusen.

Mail Sport revealed on Monday that the Dutch international was extremely keen to join Liverpool — and the fact he was high on their agenda.

The Premier League champions are now moving forward with their interest and expect to land Frimpong on a long-term deal shortly.

Leverkusen were first aware of Liverpool’s interest more than six months ago and he ticks a lot of boxes for Arne Slot.
