Liverpool are on the brink of making Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister their first summer signing and could have a £60million deal done by the end of this week.
The Argentina World Cup winner is top of manager Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist and talks are now at an advanced stage for Mac Allister to come in and give Liverpool a high-class option as they begin to reshape their midfield.
It is standard practice for Liverpool, when making investments of this nature, to give arrivals a minimum of a five-year contract.
Personal terms will not be a problem for Mac Allister, whose energy and goals will give Klopp’s team a different dimension.
