Liverpool completed their first signing of the summer transfer window on Monday evening by bringing Fabinho to Anfield for a reported £40m fee.
Fabinho, the Brazil midfielder, was signed from Monaco, with whom he established himself as one of Europe’s finest players in 2016/17, when the Principality club won Ligue 1 and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
He has become Jurgen Klopp’s first signing of the summer, just days after Liverpool were defeated in the Champions League final, while another midfielder will also be heading to Anfield in the coming weeks, with the deal to sign Naby Keita agreed last year.
