Much has been made of Liverpool's interest in Virgil van Dijk and, more recently, Naby Keita, but Jurgen Klopp could be about to secure another target in the coming weeks.
According to reports, the Reds have submitted a £14.9million bid for Lyon defender Emanuel Mammana.
With Klopp wanting all of their business done before leaving for the club's pre-season tour on July 19, it could happen sooner rather than later.
The German boss has already signed Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke from Roma and Chelsea respectively and he wants to bolster their ranks ahead of a return to the Champions League – providing they are successful in qualification and reach the group stages.
