Liverpool fan denies racially abusing Antoine Semenyo four months after wheelchair user season ticket holder, 47, was escorted out of Anfield

A Liverpool fan has denied racially abusing Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo during a Premier League match in August.

Mark Mogan of Templehill Close, Dovecot, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Monday. He pleaded not guilty to racially aggravated disorderly behaviour.

The alleged incident occurred on the opening day of the Premier League season, as Semenyo went to take a throw in.

TV footage appeared to show him having an exchange with a fan who was in a wheelchair in the disabled section, and who pushed himself toward the player before turning and spinning away.
