Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has conceded that Jurgen Klopp's champions are not in the Premier League title race.
The Reds suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat by Brighton at Anfield on Wednesday night.
It was the first time Liverpool have lost two consecutive matches at home since 2017.
Steven Alzate's second-half strike has left Liverpool seven points behind Manchester City at the summit.
Ahead of Liverpool's showdown with City on Sunday at Anfield, Robertson said: 'Any game against Manchester City is a big one.
