Liverpool 'begin talks to award Mohamed Salah with new two-year extension to make him the highest-paid player in the club's HISTORY'

Liverpool have begun negotiations to make Mohamed Salah the highest-paid player in the club's history with a new four-year deal, according to reports.

The Egyptian winger - widely regarded as one of the most important players in Jurgen Klopp's squad - is currently on a £200,000-a-week contract that runs until the summer of 2023.

Reds sporting director Michael Edwards is currently on a contract extension spree after renewing deals for the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.

And according to The Athletic, Liverpool want to extend Salah's contract by a further two years until 2025 in a record-breaking deal for the Merseyside club.
