The FA Women’s Championship game had already been moved back two hours to give the Prenton Park pitch the best possible chance of thawing from plummeting overnight temperatures.
But despite the use of covers and heat lamps for several days, the surface was still frozen in parts and the referee decided a postponement was the best course of action.
A new date for the fixture will be announced at the earliest opportunity.
