Lallana defies fatigue as Liverpool's marathon man puts in two huge shifts

The in-form England international covered 13.22km in Monday’s 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light, having clocked up 12.88km in the victory over Manchester City at Anfield two days earlier.

Remarkably, they were the two biggest shifts put in by any Premier League player over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Mathieu Flamini (12.67km) for Crystal Palace against Arsenal and George Boyd (12.62km) for Burnley against Manchester City were the only opponents to come close to covering that kind of distance.

Lallana’s energy and relentless pressing has been a feature of Liverpool’s title challenge so far. The £25million man has been in outstanding form with seven Premier League goals and seven assists so far this season.
