Jurgen Klopp compares Liverpool's 4-1 win over Luton to the Reds' famous comeback against Barcelona in 2019... and admits he 'broke his promise' never to use the Champions League triumph as an example to his players

Jurgen Klopp compared Liverpool’s second-half onslaught against Luton with their famous win over Barcelona at Anfield in 2019, after his side came from behind to blow Luton apart with four second-half goals and go four points clear at the top of the Premier League.

‘Tonight is one of those nights where it is difficult to stop talking. I am so happy. Before the game nobody knew how the boys would take on the challenge,’ said Klopp.

With nine senior players unavailable due to injury and a bench with five players aged 19 or under, Klopp named Liverpool’s youngest starting eleven for a Premier League game since February 2018 and subsequently drew comparisons with that Champions League semi-final night, where his side faced a similar injury crisis.
