Jonjo Shelvey missed Nottingham Forest's defeat to Liverpool after 'being SENT HOME' by Steve Cooper 'for reaction to being named on the bench after poor performances in training' as problems continue to mount for the club

Jonjo Shelvey was told to stay at home by Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper for a poor attitude, according to a report.

Shelvey was left out of the match day squad to face his former side Liverpool on Wednesday and the reason has seemingly been revealed.

The midfielder is said to have been angered at being named on the bench at Anfield after Cooper had deemed his training performances not good enough to warrant a starting place.

It's said that the two were involved in a heated conversation, with Shelvey eventually being left out the squad and sent home for the game, according to The Telegraph.
