Liverpool chairman Tom Werner has thrown his support behind the BBC's new football sitcom The First Team, working with Inbetweeners producers Iain Morris and Damon Beesley.
The six-part series follows three footballers at a fictional Premier League club and is due to air on BBC Two from Thursday, May 28 at 9:30pm.
But Morris and Beesley, who are producers of the show, have spoken about the support of executive producer Werner, who has been on the board at Liverpool since Fenway Sports Group took over the club in 2010.
'Tom was very involved, he was great,' Morris told talkSPORT.
