'It’s an exciting group of players - I can learn so much here'

After sealing a loan move to Merseyside, goalkeeper Katie Startup firmly believes Liverpool FC Women are a team on the up and ready to challenge for promotion back to the Women’s Super League.

Having experienced the FA Women’s Championship last season during a temporary spell with Charlton Athletic, the 22-year-old is already very impressed at the set-up under new manager Matt Beard.

With Rachael Laws and Rylee Foster sharing goalkeeping duties last term, Startup is under no illusions that she faces a big challenge to stake a claim for the No.1 jersey.

However, under the guidance of goalkeeping coach Joe Potts, the stopper is hoping to make a big impression at the Reds.
