Liverpool see out the first-half with their 1-0 lead intact after Luis Diaz's opening strike in the 22nd minute put them in control. The Colombian danced his way through the German side's defence before curling a shot into the bottom corner.
Jota should have doubled his side's lead minutes later but blazed his one-v-one chance wide before hitting the post with a strike from a tight angle later in the half.
