Gareth Bale's reign as Wales player of the year ended by Chris Gunter while Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn picks up young footballer award

Chris Gunter has been named Welsh footballer of the year, with Ben Woodburn claiming the best young player award.

Reading right-back Gunter picked up the player of the year trophy at the 2017 Football Association of Wales awards on Monday night.

Gunter has again been ever-present for Wales in 2017 to take his number of caps to 81 - the second most by an outfield player, with only Gary Speed ahead of him on 85.
