Former Liverpool defender Yasser Larouci joins Sheffield United on season-long loan from Troyes, after Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom convinced him over the move

Former Liverpool left-back Yasser Larouci has joined Sheffield United on loan from Troyes.

The Algerian-born 22-year-old won the FA Youth Cup with Liverpool in 2019, and made his debut for the club in an FA Cup win over Everton.

However, when he was released by the Reds in 2021, he went back to France to join Troyes, where he made 30 Ligue 1 appearances for the club last season.

He has since gone on to impress for France U21s, and is available on loan following Troyes' relegation to Ligue 2.
