Egypt open the door to Mohamed Salah missing the Olympics to start the 2021-22 Premier League season with Liverpool as their coach insists he will only head to Tokyo with 'an agreement between all parties'

Egypt under-23 coach Shawky Gharib has named Mohamed Salah in his provisional squad for the Olympic Games but insists the Liverpool forward won't play unless there is 'an agreement between all parties.'

The Tokyo Games takes place from July 23-August 8 and with each country allowed three players over the age of 23, 28-year-old Salah could star for his country.

However, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has previously stated he would want a close look at Egypt's preparation programme before making a decision on whether Salah could play, given he would likely miss the start of the Premier League season if he did play.
