Confirmed: Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and Liverpool charged by UEFA following Champions League clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool have both been charged by UEFA following Tuesday's Champions League clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola has been hit with two disciplinary offences for his actions in City's 2-1 defeat at home to the Reds, who progressed to the semi-finals with a 5-1 aggregate win.

The Spaniard faces a first charge having been sent to the stands for protesting to referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz after Leroy Sane had a goal incorrectly disallowed during the quarter-final second leg.

The City boss also faces a second charge of improper conduct from the European governing body for communicating with the bench after he had been sent to the stands.
