Chaos at Champions League final with Liverpool fans caught in crushes, TEAR GAS used by police and legend Alan Kennedy, 67, helped to safety as kick-off is delayed… before furious Reds demand inquest as UEFA blame 'ticketless fans'

Chaos reigned in Paris on Saturday night as the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid was delayed 36 minutes amid frightening scenes outside the Stade de France.

Thousands of Liverpool fans were caught up in crowd crushes as they found themselves unable to enter the stadium in time for the scheduled kick-off time, while police added to the panic by using tear gas and pepper spray with children and elderly among those affected.

A stadium announcement blaming the late arrival of supporters for the delay was described as 'b*******' by TV personality Gary Lineker, who was among the many people trapped.
