Calvin Ramsay joins Preston North End on loan from Liverpool as promising right-back seeks to reignite his career after injury-hit season saw him play just 93 MINUTES

Calvin Ramsay has joined Preston North End on a year-long loan from Liverpool.

The 19-year-old is Ryan Lowe's first signing of the transfer window as the Lilywhites try to build on a top-half finish.

After joining Liverpool from Aberdeen in an initial £4million move, the right-back made just two appearances in a season plagued by injury - firstly a back issue and then a knee injury which prompted surgery in February.

He only managed 93 minutes of football in 2022/23 and hasn't played competitively since November.

But the Scottish youngster is highly rated and won plaudits for his progressive play at Pittodrie, racking up nine assists the season before joining Jurgen Klopp's men.
