Bill Gates was offered the chance to buy Liverpool but did not respond

Bill Gates, the world’s richest man, passed up on an offer to buy Liverpool in 2010.

Court documents in an ongoing legal battle between Mill Financial, who attempted to buy Liverpool but failed, and former owner George Gillett and the Royal Bank of Scotland, revealed the approach this week.

But Gates, valued at £67.3billion by Forbes as No 1 on their World’s Billionaires List, did not respond.
