Bayern Munich chief makes blunt admission about Florian Wirtz transfer race after Liverpool's third bid worth £114m

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has laid out the red carpet for Liverpool to sign Florian Wirtz after revealing his side simply cannot compete financially.

Liverpool's third offer for the Bayer Leverkusen star is £100million plus £14m in add-ons, though the German outfit's dream number would be £126m.

Leverkusen have not outright rejected that bid but negotiations are ongoing over whether Liverpool can increase the package of bonus payments.

Wirtz's preference has seemingly been Liverpool and German newspaper Bild reported in May that his father rang Bayern to tell them his future is at Anfield.
