Tottenham Hotspur have sacked Ange Postecoglou despite the Australian guiding the club to victory in the Europa League and ending their 17-year trophy drought, sources have told ESPN.
Spurs beat Manchester United 1-0 in Bilbao on May 21, fulfilling Postecoglou's promise that he "always wins trophies in his second season" at the teams he manages.
However, the north London side finished 17th in the Premier League and suffered their most defeats in a single Premier League season (22).
Spurs lost to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semifinals and were knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa in the fourth round.
