Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has been dropped by Jose Mourinho for the first time in the Portuguese tactician's reign.
Rooney's place in United's starting line-up has been a major talking point over the last few weeks following poor performances against Manchester City, Watford and Northampton.
And Mourinho, who rested Rooney against Feyenoord in the Europa League, has now given in to the intense pressure by starting the in-form Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard ahead of his skipper.

Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference ahead of United's match against the Premier League champions that Rooney, 30, was not undroppable despite wearing the armband.
