The prospect of Manchester United playing two matches in a little over 48 hours this week has caused plenty of debate and disgruntlement.

The rescheduling of United's postponed game with Liverpool so soon after their meeting with Leicester City had manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fuming at the Premier League.

And the highly likely prospect of Solskjaer fielding a weakened team against Leicester has called into question the integrity of the top-four race.

But this is far from the first time United have faced such a scenario. In fact, one of the most significant moments in their history happened in very similar circumstances back in 1993.
