Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez has confirmed Arsenal made an approach to sign him in the summer.
The Gunners were linked with a move for the Algerian continually during the most recent transfer window after he bagged 18 goals last season.
But Mahrez, just like teammate Jamie Vardy, was happy to shun interest from Arsene Wenger's side and sign a new long-term deal with the Premier League champions.
"There was contact with Arsenal," Mahrez told Canal Football Club.
"But Leicester wanted to keep me and I was pretty expensive.
