Premier League to non-league: nine players who made the drop in their careers

Earlier this week, Pennant agreed a two-year contract with Billericay Town, who play in the Isthmian League, the seventh-tier of English football. Coming to the end of his career, his CV features spells with Arsenal, Liverpool and Stoke City. He follows Paul Konchesky and Jamie O'Hara in joining the non-league side.

A product of Manchester United’s youth system, Chadwick made 25 league appearances for the Red Devils between 1999 and 2003 and received a Premier League winners’ medal in 2000/01. A bit-part player, he was forced to leave Old Trafford permanently in 2004 – on a free transfer to West Ham – following a succession of loan spells.
